With their catch phrase “printing simplified” one can gather a good idea of what Old School Digital is all about.  Bringing with him a positive and energetic nature, we had the pleasure of speaking to Hugo recently, one of the owners.

From humble beginnings, but with big plans, Old School Digital started out as a typical repo house.  But after 9 years in this competitive industry, they have now branched out into flat bed and litho printing, taking their deserved share of the market.

With their “we just make it happen” attitude, they soon realized that they had to spread their wings a bit, in terms of how they printed and on what they printed.  They needed to buy newer machines to do the job and change with the industry.

And therein steps GSW.  The EFi H1625 Hybrid Printer is, according to Hugo, a magic machine, that is able to print on pretty much any type of material.  Although they are still in the experiential phase, as they only bought the machine in October, they see a great future and a place for themselves, with this new addition to their family.

When they started using a digital dye cutter about 2 years ago, they used GSW for all their servicing and maintenance, and it just made sense to include them in their future plans when it came to purchasing a new machine.  Hugo, especially, likes that it dries quickly, meaning a quicker turnaround time for all their jobs.

When asked as to what market share Old School Digital wanted to have, Hugo said that although they are a traditional trade shop, meaning they, more often than not, assist other printing houses, as well as the brokers in between, they also want to make the general public their main focus.  They are in the process of employing an in-house graphic designer, so that they can start giving their clients the full house when it comes to printing.

The purchase of the EFi H1625 Hybrid Printer from Graphic Supply World has opened many more doors for them and they are very optimistic that they will see some phenomenal changes in the very near future.  Hugo continued to tell us that he feels it is only one’s imagination that is one’s limitation.

He had only good things to say about his experience with GSW, and praised Rob for his on-hand approach, as well as the sales consultant, Wesley, and not to forget the technician, Greg.

As for future work with GSW, Hugo had a very confident tone when he said that they most definitely could see Old School purchasing bigger and faster machines down the line.
