Mimaki’s dye sublimation transfer printers offer print companies great creative potential and new revenue opportunities, especially for personalized and on demand jobs for apparel , such as sports- and swimwear, workwear, jackets, scarves, ties, and furnishing type of applications.
In dye sublimation transfer printing, the image is printed onto transfer paper. The type of paper depends on your printer, your ink and the output you need. A high speed printer such as the TS5 needs a fast drying transfer paper. After printing, a heat press or a calendar is needed to fix the image onto the substrate. This process causes the dye particles of the image to sublimate.
Mimaki’s sublimation prints give high durability, even after washing and dry cleaning. Select the type of dye sublimation ink you need: SB51 ink for photographs and SB52 for brilliant colour expression, including high density black printing for sportswear and apparel.
Uninterrupted Ink Supply System (UISS)
When an ink cartridge runs out, another cartridge automatically begins to supply ink. Ink cartridges can be changed during printing and overnight continuous printing is possible. The UISS can be used in 4 colour mode.
Mimaki Bulk Ink System (MBIS)
The Mimaki Bulk Ink System (MBIS) ensures long continuous printing. The system comes with 8 x 2L bags (4 colours)
The automatic nozzle failure detection monitors the ink-discharging state from the print head and detects and cleans clogged nozzles.
The TS5-1600AMF is equipped with a feeding and take-up system (AMF) that enables smooth media handling for heavy rolls of transfer paper and thin and flimsy media up to 38 kg. The TS3-1600 is equipped with a standard take-up device that can hold media up to 25 kg.
