Digital Printing
Graphix Supply World is an industry leader, providing exceptional service and outstanding digital printing solutions to its clients. Selling top of the range media and inks, this is a company which sets the standards, satisfying customers with fantastic after-sale service and technical support. There are a wide variety of printers and ink types available, satisfying a diverse range of needs, from those of the textile industry to graphic and signage manufacturers.
One of the options available is the UV printers which are seen as an environmentally and economically friendly alternative, producing superior-quality prints with amazingly intense colour. This is a hard-wearing option, which has a high UV resistance withstanding both outdoor and indoor conditions. Regardless of whether you are printing onto a coated or uncoated substrate, even the most discerning client will be satisfied with the bright, dense colours.
The UV printing process makes use of a unique, specialised ink which is cured by LED bulbs; therefore, it is a means of saving energy, as heaters do not need to be used to dry the ink. Traditional heat-set print technologies can produce high energy fees, as in order to work they have to use ovens and dryers, which cure the inks by extracting water and solvents out of them.
Mimaki’s innovative UV LED printing technology lowers costs even further. Mimaki manufactures the JFX-1631 flatbed, JX500 , UJF-3042 and UJV-160 UV LED inkjet printers, using LED bulbs to cure the UV ink, instead of traditonal UV bulbs. UV bulbs can become very hot, drawing a considerable amount of power and can deform heat-sensitive media during curing. The UV LED curing technology is much more cost-effective, environmentally-friendly and efficient.
UV LED printing provides an energy efficient alternative which results in the same bright colours but in a more environmentally responsible way. The ink also contains reduced amounts of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) making it non-toxic and thereby enhancing the printer’s eco-friendly status.
Graphix Supply World has a number of different UV printers available, including the JV 400-130/160SUV which can print in four colours, at speeds of up to 18 square metres an hour. The specialised printer amalgamates the flexibility of solvent with the strength of UV-cured inks. When you print, the solvent is absorbed by the ink-receiving layer of the media, which causes the pigment to settle into the media. After this, the printed ink is cured using the UV process and the result is a glossy, polished finish with bright colours. The prints come out of the printer ready for second-processing, completely dry and with a coating that is resistant to scratching.
The UJF-3042FX is a UV LED printer, which can print white and clear, has an automatic primer application function and uses the new flexible ink. The JFX Plus Series prints at an 80% higher print speed and gives clients the option of printing on grid and roll media. The Oryx Swiss Q Print has built in technology which enables it to perfectly align double sided jobs, using unique register pins. This incredibly sensitive machinery is state-of-the-art and produces extremely aesthetically pleasing, smooth finishes.
UV printing is an energy efficient, cost-effective, environmentally friendly alternative to traditional heat-based printing and produces an excellent glossy, smooth finish with brilliant, rich colours. The ink requires no heaters and dries instantaneously under the UV lights, which means that as soon as it exits the printer it is ready for the next process, saving you time and increasing productivity.
